The pool that never was...

This was the closest we got to cleaning out this old rundown pool. It was situated behind some sketchy hotel near my house and was spotted by our buddy Paul Eibeler. The hotel was one of those spots with the hourly rates for dudes lookin for a little rubb-n-tugg or underagers trying to get their drink on. We decided that the hotel and surrounding were such a shit hole that whoever ran the place wouldnt really care that we were cleaning out their pool for free. The pool originally had a cover but was half sank in the muddy water and half torn off the side of the pool deck. On our first scope out mission a pump was found in some ghetto ass shed. We (Paul, Terra and I) decided to come back the next night maned up with shovels and a light socket to plug converter. We doubted that the pump would work, but it started right up. We rigged the thing to screw into a light socket near the back of the hotel so every night when they turned the lights on the pump would go on. It was genius. It wasnt pumping out massive amounts of water but after a few nights it had done its job the best it could. We were left with a bunch of mudd, leaves, sticks and other random garbage to clear out by hand. We put in some hours and were pretty much ready to ride the thing... then we got caught. Either they knew all along that we were helping solve the mosquito problem they had brewing from the standing water or it was just bad timing. In the end.... we never got to ride it. We went back a few nights later and they had secured a brand new cover that was strapped down tighter then a nuns undies. That clover deep looked so good. Some of the edges were falling apart but it would have been a blast to ride. Made for some cool lines and back edges to fuf/stall. Oh well... as usual the search continues.

3rd Nick Steben

I really am surprised that it took since friday for 5 people to submit the correct answers. I guess I made it harder then I had originally thought. Over 2 thousand people viewed it and not even 10 send in the correct answers. These 5 dudes were the first to get them 100%.

Round 2 coming soon.

Thanks for participating.

Shoreham bmx out on Long Island is where most of everyone I know, myself included, got their start in bmx. Racing was usually the first step for everyone since almost no skill at all is needed to complete a lap. Jumping and actually riding a track correct comes with time, but getting around it is not a very hard task. My first trip to Shoreham was in 1994 and I was quickly hooked on this new found sport. Some of my best friends were made at this track and as we grew in skill levels together we started traveling the country racing in different nationals and regional races. Shoreham was known to have some of the best riders in the sport. The track was challenging and kept up with the reputation of the world famous local trail spots. When outsiders came to Shoreham they were intimidated. The jumps were big and if you didnt know how to pump you were usually shit out of luck..... That all came to an end in the late 90's when new head honchos took over the track and ruined it. They made everything very rookie friendly and that quickly drew all the locals away. Most people I rode with quit racing about that time and spent more time at the trails and skateparks..... That is until now... Check out Tommy Biv's blog to check out the new updates. Looks like the board finally gave the OK to give the track a facelift. I am proud that these guys stepped up to finally make a change out there. I am really excited to get back on the track this year. Hopefully most of my old friends feel the same. It would be awesome to get semi's (or even quarters) again in the open wheels class! Great job boys!

This is my friend Amanda modeling our now sold out "Queens" girls shirt. I am sure noone will be complaining that this is a re-post of old photos. Right?
Started printing samples today for a certain retail store that might be looking to carry Manmade. I dont want to let the cat out of the bag until I know for sure but this could be huge for Manmade.

If you rode bmx in the late 90's early 2000's odds are you had a pair of the Mike Vallely Etnies. I went through about 4 pairs of these things in a span of a year or two. If they were that huge in bmx I'm sure they were a top seller in the skate world as well. Etnies came out with the second version of his kicks but they were ugly as sin. I found these today in my basement buried with some other old destroyed kicks.... with a little water and a quick cleaning they might not be half bad. Might be my new trail kicks for the spring. Search his name in Youtube.. bunch of good footie of him online.
