FREE ADVERTISING

Well, the hundreds of flyers we tagged up the other day have all been taken down. Not sure if it was a parks department clean up or if the school sent out some ninja to un-do our decorating but I dont even think they lasted a full 24 hours. Took the liberty of posting up a few more this weekend around town and in the big city. Can beat a FREE ad in times square. The guy walking towards me in the last photo "oh wow, cool design".

Ad of the day.

Magazine: Ride Bmx Magazine
Issue: Nov 2005
Rider: Josh Nendza
Photog: Landon Anderson

Couldn't get a very good scan of this due to his name being near the seam of the magazine... but this is Josh Nendza with two high airs on Tony Mortensons backyard ramp. You may have seem this ramp in some older Props videos or FBM edits. It has a roller/spine thing in the middle and on the opposite deck a tree branch hangs out that you can do tricks on. Looked like a real fun spot. Check out this old edit of Josh we made for a Props commercial by clicking HERE.

Hit up some stealth guerilla marketing around Queens today. We basically dropped by every bus stop and corner of the surrounding schools around the way slapping up about 200 of these little flyers. The SFP corner was hit the hardest. The administration is gonna be psyched tommorow.

Manmade owner, Darren Meenan is featured in todays Time Out NY magazine and of course he had to wear a new Manmade shirt to the photoshoot. Click the link to check it out.

Although short lived, "Deadwood Trails" was one of the most feared dirt spots on Long Island. The jumps were tall and the gaps were rather big. Locals Brien Shoemaker and Keith Terra collaborated with the shovels to create the trails along with this advert. Shoe is riding and Terra is clickin the shutter.

The summer line just dropped and it's been a long time coming. Go grab some fresh threads.

Ad #3

Magazine: Ride Bmx Magazine
Issue: Oct/Nov 2006

This ad was used in quite a few magazines. I am not real sure how we hooked up with Bridget but we sent her some clothes and she returned the favor by taking some photos for us near some train tracks in her undies. We got an email with the photos and Id say it was more than a fair trade for a few free tshirts.

Throwback ad #2

Magazine: Ride Bmx Magazine
Issue: May/June 2005

This is one of my favorite ads. Keith Terra shot the photo down in Austin, TX and I layed it out over a shot of some dried up leaves in the yard. Simple look but came out great in my opinion. Nothin beats a flattie.

Throwback ad of the day

Magazine: Dig Bmx Magazine
Issue: Aug/Sept 2005

This photo was taken by our broseph John Soto. John went to college for photography at a school that Hallmark has going on then headed to Iraq straight into the infantry. The dude on the right is Jay "Midwear" Emmerich... his sloppy filming led to Shredder doing this again for my camera. To my knowledge I dont know of anyone else doing this at Hacketstown. I've heard of some wallrides and walltaps but none downside like this. Shredder is an animal. I wish he still rode. You can see my angle in HERE in an edit I threw together a few months ago.

Either this is a comic Mat Hoffman layin down a massive 900 at height on an old school narrow ass ramp or Sean Burns jumping some quarter to flat. Regardless its pretty cool seeing BMX used in the marketing of a mainstream brand of oatmeal. Back in the late 80's some of our boys were sponsored by obscure brands like Eagle Snacks... I guess 20 years later the same kids who grew up in the era where bmx may have been cooler to them than little league baseball are the ones getting the marketing/advertising jobs at big brands now like Quaker. Good stuff.

Oops, the page was down for a day or so. I switched email addresses over the past year and forgot to update my contact info for the domain hosting so the renewal email went unread. I let the domain expire by accident but got it all sorted out now. Sorry we were MIA for a couple days, dont want anyone to think we went bankrupt in this recession.
Sean Buggy (along with some other local heads) is back on it. If youve seen "Chapter 2" you prob know he was big on riding street....little did I know years later he can also now ride dirt. Everyone has been coming out of the woodwork lately at some new spot in Queens that popped up over the last year or so. Its funny to ride the trails with Buggy now considering when we were both riding full time we not once rode dirt together. I dont think I ever knew he had the dirt skills let alone busting out no handers on his 2nd lap of the day. Good to see some old faces around the way.
